Prada, LVMH And Kering Are Producing Masks And Medical Equipment To Combat The Coronavirus.
Since the global outbreak of coronavirus at the end of 2019, companies including Prada, Gucci and Versace have all joined the fight against the disease. Aid takes different forms, and many brands have provided protective medical equipment and masks to relieve shortages – some have even altered their supply chains to manufacture masks and overalls in their existing factories.
Salvatore Ferragamo is donating 100,000 TNT anti-bacterial masks, 50,000 units of hand sanitiser and 3,000 FPP1 masks; Gucci has donated £1.8 million (€2 million) to support two crowdfunding campaigns; The Valentino Garavani and Giancarlo Giammetti Foundation has given £905,000 (€1 million) toward medical aid, while Prada recently announced that it will manufacture 80,000 medical overalls and 110,000 masks. Canada Goose has set-up a response initiative that includes funding, charitable donations and the impending production of medical scrubs and gowns.
