Gilles Deleuze, along with his intellectual companion Félix Guattari, is one of the most influential thinkers of the 20th century but his works are notoriously difficult to get into, so in this short video I’d like to make one aspect of his thought a bit more accessible, his critique of representational thinking along with the related question that Deleuze was always preoccupied with, how to create the new and I’ll illustrate my points with perhaps a strangely specific example, drum machines.
